Lake House Ipswich

This house has been digitally designed and manufactured by Facit homes, who are the UK’s Leading Home Manufacturer, projects are low energy and sustainable. We were honoured to be specified by Facit Homes who have the won The Queen’s Award for Design. Their client wanted to bring nature inside and have a very natural looking flooring that was both sustainable and practical.

The Polished Concrete Co suggested our PCC800 product which is very natural looking product and is poured so it has gentle movement. This type of movement is reflected in the Lake which sits at the bottom of the garden of this amazing project. The colour is an earthy brown which mimics the colour of the trees and bushes around the property. The whole theme of this house was simplicity and nature, the sustainable wood which was sourced in the outer Hebrides compliments the tones of the Polished Concrete. This floor was hand trowelled and sanded to a Matt satin finish. We sealed the Polished Concrete with a natural water based sealer which maximises the natural effect but is highly resilient to spills and traffic. The Polished Concrete floor continues up the stairs where it meets the natural wood.

The Polished Concrete Cos lake house floor has been featured in Januarys Contract Flooring Journal and we are delighted to learn that we have been shortlisted for floor of the year.
