Working with Sara Mungeam from Casa London @houseobsessed was an absolute dream. Sara is a talented interior designer and Property developer and The Polished Concrete Co Loved helping her create this very modern, but comfortable space.
We used Ideal Work Microtopping in the colour smoke on the floors in the kitchen and on the walls in the shower room. Sara created lots of light with the clever use of windows in the roof upstairs which highlights the movement or the patterns in the microtopping. Ideal Work Microtopping can be manipulated as it is laid by hand with a trowel to create different types of aesthetic finishes. Sara asked the Polished Concrete Co to work the product to create some pattern and movement of colour in the floor without being too distracting.
The Polished Concrete Co created a seamless look which links the walls in the shower with the hexagonal ceramic tiles giving the finished project some lovely contrasts in texture.
Ideal Work Microtopping is a very versatile medium and looks superb on bathroom walls and floors. The Polished Concrete Co has a wide range of colours which can be adjusted to co-ordinate with other materials such as bathroom ceramics and bathroom furniture. Here at the Polished Concrete Co, bathrooms have become more popular in Microtopping as small areas are given the illusion of space with seamless floor and wall finishes. Polished concrete bathrooms are sealed with a special polyurethane sealer which has a matt finish retaining all of the natural beauty of the concrete with the practicalities of being water proof.
Microtopping bathrooms are also more cost effective than some ceramics and Moroccan Tadelakt products or polished plaster but look as effective and natural.
The Polished Concrete Co has a showroom in Croydon and an online booking system where you can view various wall finishes and colours.
